Timi Dakolo and wife escape Bayelsa helicopter crash

Thank God it ended this way if this story is true by Timi. 2007 West African Idol winner Timi Dakolo and his wife Busola have a lot to be thankful for. It has emerged that the couple who attended Oronto Douglas' father's burial in Bayelsa today, were meant to fly on the same military chopper that claimed the lives of Governor Yakowa, Gen Azazi and others, but Timi decided at the very last minute to travel by road and not fly.

breaking news

NaijaPundit has just received information that unknown gun men have attacked the Special Anti-Robbery Squad Head Quarters in Abuja which is the holding facility for terror suspects, especially members of the Boko Harama sect. The attack reportedly occurred in the early hours of today. The FCT Police Commissioner, Aderenle Shinaba, is exoected to hold a press briefing shortly to give fuller details. It is suspected that the gun men are Boko Haram sympathizers and unconfirmed reports have it that they released a number of detainees in the facility.

Doomsday believers say world will end Dec. 21, swamp French village for safety

The mountains side will be closed off for three days before and two days after the ‘doomsday’. A French village, Bugarach, is struggling to cope with the influx of Doomsday believers, mystical groups who believe a mountain in the village will help them escape the end of the world on December 21. The doomsday cultists believe a mountain in the village contains an arsenal of UFOs that will catapult them to safety in another realm while the rest of the planet perishes. The believers have held the belief since 2010 and have since then circulated rumours about the village’s ‘ability’ to provide shelter from an impending Armageddon expected on December 21, the end of a 5,125-year-long cycle in the ancient Maya calendar. The village of Bugarach in South-West France has a population of 200. Bugarach Mayor, Jean-Pierre Delord, said his village had been “overrun with esoteric weirdos” hoping to survive the doomsday. “The mountainside is swarming with hippies, many of them naked, who drop litter and make a mess,” Mr. Delord said. “This is no laughing matter. If 10,000 people turn up on December 21, our village will not be able to cope.” “There are already some websites in the US with some people selling tickets for trips to Bugarach. They are doing some business, and people are already organising visits and prayer and meditation workshops, etc,” the mayor told RTL radio. The area’s regional prefect, Eric Freysselinard, has issued an order barring people from climbing the mountain on “Doomsday”. “It will be closed off for three days before and two days after the world is supposed to end,” Mr. Freysselinard said. The story about the world ending in December 2012 started with claims that Nibiru, a supposed planet discovered by the Sumerians, is headed toward Earth. This catastrophe was initially predicted for May 2003, but when nothing happened the doomsday date was moved forward to December 2012 and linked to the end of one of the cycles in the ancient Mayan calendar at the winter solstice in 2012 — hence the predicted doomsday date of December 21. “The world will not end in 2012. Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012,” NASA said on its website.

JUST DO WHAT GOD'S CALLED YOU TO DO!

JUST DO WHAT GOD'S CALLED YOU TO DO! '...Stay within the [boundaries] of the work which God has set for [you]...' 2 CORINTHIANS 10:13 Nobody is good at everything, and nobody is called to do everything. God has given each of us clearly defined roles in life. Paul understood that his job wasn't to accomplish everything or try to please everyone, but to focus on what God had called and equipped him to do: 'Our goal is to stay within the [boundaries] of the work which God has set for us.' Only as you do that will you be successful, as God defines success. Satan will try to rob you of the joy of serving by getting you to compare yourself with others, or getting you to conform to the expectations of others. Don't fall into his trap! You'll always find someone who seems to be doing a better job than you, and you'll become discouraged. Or you'll find someone who doesn't seem to be as successful as you, and you'll become conceited. Either way, you lose out. 'Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won't need to compare yourself to anyone else' (Galatians 6:4 NLT). There will always be people who don't understand your God-given role in life or agree with you. That's okay; don't let it break your stride! 'Concentrate on doing your best for God, work you won't be ashamed of...' (2 Timothy 2:15 TM). 'Tell them all this. Build up their courage, and discipline them if they get out of line. You're in charge. Don't let anyone put you down' (Titus 2:15 TM). John Bunyan, author of the Christian classic, Pilgrim's Progress, wrote: 'If my life is fruitless it doesn't matter who praises me. And if it's fruitful it doesn't matter who criticises me.' So, just do what God's called you to do!

AITH: THE POWER TO OVERCOME

FAITH: THE POWER TO OVERCOME '...This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.' 1 JOHN 5:4 When your health, your finances or family are at risk, you suddenly realise how fragile life is. Today you may be living on the sunny side of the street, but if you live long enough adversity will come knocking on your door. When it does, you'll discover that things like power, possessions and popularity won't sustain you. If power could do it, Joseph Stalin wouldn't have been afraid to go to sleep at night or been so paranoid that he appointed a soldier to guard his very teabags. If possessions could do it, fear wouldn't have caused billionaire Howard Hughes to live like a hermit and die alone. If popularity could do it, John Lennon's biographers wouldn't have described him as a fearful man who slept with the lights on and was terrified of germs. Earthly supports can only sustain you so long. Courage for living comes from a deep abiding trust in God, whose Word says, 'This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.' But faith is only as valuable as the thing it's placed in, and our faith is in a God who never fails! David said, 'Through you we push back our enemies; through your name we trample our foes' (Psalm 44:5 NIV). Jesus said, 'I have given you authority to...overcome all the power of the enemy...' (Luke 10:19 NIV). Paul said, 'Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?...No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us' (Romans 8:35-37 NIV).

Barbarian Fantasized About Roasting A 2-Year-Old Boy And Eating Him Like A Thanksgiving Turkey

The U.S. attorney’s office added another child pornography count and a count of enticing a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity. The enticing count carries a minimum 10-year prison sentence and a maximum life sentence. Why not the death penalty? Authorities say the Newton evil resident persuaded the 15-year-old to travel from New Jersey to an apartment in Stroudsburg, Pa., to have brokeback sex in October 2010. Prosecutors say he also admitted having sexual fantasies about basting a 2-year-old boy in barbecue sauce, roasting him and then eating him like a Thanksgiving turkey. The cannibalistic honk made a brief court appearance in Newark on Wednesday. His attorney didn’t comment after the hearing.

Jesus was born years earlier than thought, claims Pope

Jesus was born years earlier than thought, claims Pope The Pope also weighs in on the debate over Christ's birthplace Picture: Filippo Monteforte/AFP By Nick Squires, RomeLast Updated: 10:49PM GMT 21/11/2012 The entire Christian calendar is based on a miscalculation, the Pope has declared, as he claims in a new book that Jesus was born several years earlier than commonly believed. The 'mistake' was made by a sixth century monk known as Dionysius Exiguus or in English Dennis the Small, the 85-year-old pontiff claims in the book 'Jesus of Nazareth: The Infancy Narratives', published on Wednesday. "The calculation of the beginning of our calendar – based on the birth of Jesus – was made by Dionysius Exiguus, who made a mistake in his calculations by several years," the Pope writes in the book, which went on sale around the world with an initial print run of a million copies. "The actual date of Jesus's birth was several years before." The assertion that the Christian calendar is based on a false premise is not new – many historians believe that Christ was born sometime between 7BC and 2BC. But the fact that doubts over one of the keystones of Christian tradition have been raised by the leader of the world's one billion Catholics is striking. Dennis the Small, who was born in Eastern Europe, is credited with being the "inventor" of the modern calendar and the concept of the Anno Domini era. He drew up the new system in part to distance it from the calendar in use at the time, which was based on the years since the reign of the Roman emperor Diocletian. The emperor had persecuted Christians, so there was good reason to expunge him from the new dating system in favour of one inspired by the birth of Christ. The monk's calendar became widely accepted in Europe after it was adopted by the Venerable Bede, the historian-monk, to date the events that he recounted in his Ecclesiastical History of the English People, which he completed in AD 731. But exactly how Dennis calculated the year of Christ's birth is not clear and the Pope's claim that he made a mistake is a view shared by many scholars. The Bible does not specify a date for the birth of Christ. The monk instead appears to have based his calculations on vague references to Jesus's age at the start of his ministry and the fact that he was baptised in the reign of the emperor Tiberius. Christ's birth date is not the only controversy raised by the Pope in his new book – he also said that contrary to the traditional Nativity scene, there were no oxen, donkeys or other animals at Jesus's birth. He also weighs in on the debate over Christ's birthplace, rejecting arguments by some scholars that he was born in Nazareth rather than Bethlehem. John Barton, Professor of the Interpretation of the Holy Scripture at Oriel College, Oxford University, said most academics agreed with the Pope that the Christian calendar was wrong and that Jesus was born several years earlier than commonly thought, probably between 6BC and 4BC. "There is no reference to when he was born in the Bible - all we know is that he was born in the reign of Herod the Great, who died before 1AD," he told The Daily Telegraph. "It's been surmised for a very long time that Jesus was born before 1AD - no one knows for sure." The idea that Christ was born on Dec 25 also has no basis in historical fact. "We don't even know which season he was born in. The whole idea of celebrating his birth during the darkest part of the year is probably linked to pagan traditions and the winter solstice."

HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS (3)

HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS (3) ‘…They could not dwell together.’ GENESIS 13:6 NKJV Abraham and Lot started out together in business. Then a problem arose: ‘…Their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together. And there was strife between the herdsmen…’ (vv.6-7 NKJV). So Abraham said, ‘Please separate from me. If you take the left, then I will go to the right…’ (v.9 NKJV). There’s an important lesson here: Just because somebody belonged in your early life, doesn’t mean they’re supposed to make the whole journey with you. When memories of the early days of working with somebody are wonderful, it’s difficult to face the truth that those days are gone and will never return. Does that mean you are right and they are wrong? No, it just means you each have different destinies. If you don’t understand that, people who were once the wind beneath your wings can become a weight that drags you down. Sometimes you outgrow a person’s gifting and capacity, and no matter how much you try to help or improve them they won’t get any better. When that happens your prospects are diminished and your momentum suffers. Some of the people you want in your life shouldn’t be in it because they don’t share your passion; they have a different calling. If you learn this sooner rather than later, you’ll save yourself untold heartache. The story’s told of a man who left this message on his answering machine: ‘I’m not available right now. I’m making some changes in my life. Please leave a message after the beep. If I don’t return your call, you are one of the changes.’

Microsoft mistakenly gifts Windows 8 pirates with a free activation key

MICROSOFT Microsoft mistakenly gifts Windows 8 pirates with a free activation key By Tom Warren 5 Hours Ago Microsoft's final copy of Windows 8 leaked online back in early August and pirates have been battling to work around Microsoft's activation technology ever since. Early attempts involved the use of third-party Key Management Services (KMS) servers that would activate a copy for 180 days, requiring a re-activation every six months. This work around has allowed Windows 8 pirates to use the operating system free of charge temporarily, but the software maker has now made it even easier to avoid paying for a key. Microsoft is giving away a Media Center upgrade to Windows 8 Pro users until January 31st, and pirates have discovered that the key provided will fully activate a copy of Windows 8 that was previously temporarily activated through the KMS workaround. The blunder means pirates can download an illegitimate copy of Windows 8, temporarily activate it through KMS and then upgrade it fully to an activated copy of Windows 8 thanks to Microsoft's own Media Center upgrade offer. The Verge has confirmed the procedure works on a test machine and we have reached out to Microsoft for a comment on the method.

HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS (2)

21 Nov 2012 HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS (2) ‘…If [you]…overdrive them…[they] will die.’ GENESIS 33:13 KJV After being reconciled with his long-estranged brother Esau, Jacob agreed to accompany him back home for a celebration. Esau, who was a fast-tracker, said, ‘…Let us go…’ (12 NKJV). But Jacob said, ‘…You go on ahead!...’ He explained to his brother, ‘…The children are weak, and the flocks and herds which are nursing are with me…if the men should drive them hard…the flock will die…I will lead on slowly at a pace…the livestock…and the children, are able to endure…’ (13-14 NKJV). Jacob had great insight. He understood that if you push too hard and take on too much you can lose not only your business, but your family. There’s an important lesson here. In your quest to achieve, stay in balance! There must be a time for work and a time for rest; a time for your career and a time for your relationships. The words, ‘To love and to cherish’, mean you are married to your spouse, not your job! When it comes to your home life, your character and your spiritual walk, evolution is not the natural order. What you leave unattended deteriorates. Dr. John Maxwell shared the following prayer with his friends at a recent birthday party: ‘Lord, as I grow older I think I want to be known as…thoughtful rather than gifted, loving versus quick or bright, gentle versus powerful, a listener more than a great communicator, available rather than a hard worker, sacrificial instead of successful, reliable not famous, content more than driven, self-controlled rather than exciting, generous instead of rich, compassionate more than competent.’ And that’s a prayer you should pray too!

THE MIND OF CHRIST DOESN'T GROW OLD.

THE MIND OF CHRIST DOESN'T GROW OLD.

…we have the mind of
Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:16

Oh dear, my memory is not as
good as it used to be. I must be
getting old.” Have you heard that
before? Maybe you have even said
it yourself a couple of times! But
who says that as you grow older,
you are supposed to forget things?
When the late Reverend Kenneth E
Hagin was in his eighties, he was
still healthy and strong. This
amazing man of God would run
around the platform as he
preached. And those who have
heard him preach would tell you
that he had an amazing memory
with which he could recall specific
details such as the day of the week
that a specific date fell on and
even the time. Even at that age, the
man’s memory was superb!
He once shared how he had started
to forget things when he was in his
fifties. He had read a medical
journal which said that every day
millions of cells in our brains die.
He didn’t realize it, but those
words got into his spirit and he
started to forget things.
So he asked the Lord, “What is
happening to me?” And the Lord
said, “You read that article and you
believed it.” He repented and asked
the Lord what he should do. The
Lord said, “Confess My Word. My
Word says that you have the mind
of Christ, and the mind of Christ
never forgets.” He started to
confess that he had the mind of
Christ and that was how his
memory remained sharp for the
rest of his life.
My friend, the Word of God says
that you have the mind of Christ.
The mind of Christ is not old, slow
or forgetful! I don’t care how old
you get. You don’t have to become
forgetful. Don’t believe and confess
what medical science or your
friends say. Believe and confess the
Word of God which brings life.
The power of life and death is in
your tongue. (Proverbs 18:21) So
use your tongue for life. Don’t sit
around saying, “I am getting old
and forgetful.” Say, “I have the
mind of Christ. My mind is sharp
and quick because it is the mind of
Christ!” Believe it, confess it, and
see your thinking and memory live
up to it!www.facebook.com/

GOD'S AWESOME POWER

GOD'S AWESOME POWER
John 18:6 "As soon then as he
had said unto them, I am he,
they went backward, and fell to
the ground."
JOHN 18:5-9
It is evident that it was the power
of God that made these six hundred
men fall backwards to the ground,
but why did it happen when He
said, "I am he"?
In this verse, and also in verse
eight, the word "he" is italicized.
That means that the word "he" was
not in the original text but was
added by the translators to make
the sentence grammatically correct.
This serves a useful purpose and is
very helpful in most cases.
However, the translators put these
additions in italics so that we could
be aware of what the text literally
said.
In this instance, Jesus literally said,
"I am." Since Jesus was God
manifest in the flesh, His statement
of "I am," carried just as much
weight as when He expressed it to
Moses (Ex. 3:14). This is nothing
less than the Almighty God
releasing His glory through the
powerful statement, "I AM." No
wonder these men were knocked to
the ground.
This graphically illustrates how
Jesus could have easily defended
Himself against any size army that
would come to take His life. As He
said in John 10:18, "No man taketh
it (i.e. His life) from me, but I lay
it down of myself."
There are many instances recorded
in scripture where people fell to
the ground as a result of being in
God's presence. The same thing still
happens today. Just as some people
faint when they experience fear,
when they experience the awesome
presence of God, they become
weak, and lose strength in their
physical body.
That is What you have inside, The "I am" now lives in you, who, what can stop you?
